A Question for the White House

We're aware that a $40 billion increase in energy taxes is one of the ideas proposed to help pay for your jobs bill. That's even though analysis shows higher energy taxes threatens jobs, revenue to the government and valuable energy production. As you know, the oil and natural gas industry already contributes more than $86 million a day to the government and contributed $476 billion to the economy in 2010 - and could do more with pro-development policies. So, the question:
Will you support the oil and gas industry in its efforts to create jobs, fund government and secure our energy future?
