NY Natural Gas Supporters: “No More Delays”

Here’s how the hometown Times Herald-Record reported on Monday’s pro-natural gas/pro-hydraulic fracturing rally in Albany, N.Y.:

"Fed up with waiting years for the economic shot in the arm they say fracking would bring to a jobs-needy state, about 1,000 supporters of drilling for natural gas descended on the state capital Monday to deliver a message to Gov. Andrew Cuomo: Lift the moratorium on fracking."

The newspaper noted evident frustration in the crowd over the state’s four-year study of natural gas development. The state’s Department of Environmental Conservation is preparing its own review of fracking and could miss a Nov. 29 deadline for issuing regulations – adding more time to an already lengthy process:

"If the deadline is missed, there must be a public hearing on the regulations and public comments must be considered. That would mean more delays in a process that already has generated eight public hearings and some 80,000 comments. That's why one of the loudest chants Monday was this: 'No more delays.'"

Here’s how it looked and sounded:
